Round-Robin
Okay, so it seems that everyone and their mother's cousin's dog's nephew's owner's son's plant's kerfuffle is doing a round robin. So does S2WG want to get in on this? For those of you wondering what a round robin is...well I don't know really. But it involves 10 people and a legacy family. Basically, each player plays one generation, then there is a poll to determine heir when they reach adulthood, and that sim is packaged up for the next player. It means rebuilding for every generation, but it sounds kinda super fun. Also, you get to take part in a legacy but you only have to deal with one generation. Full rules here ETA: Rule #6 states no Trips/Quads hacks, Inteen etc...I'm going to say for this challenge...screw it. Keep 'em in. I don't see how it changes anything. I'm going to say stick with the base hack rule of: if it gives you an unfair advantage, it's no good for the legacy.

So yea, I thought if anyone was interested, we could have a little founder contest, whoever wanted to - of the participants - could make a founder and submit anonymously to the S2WG LJ page, after they are all submitted, we could have a poll to determine the founder and then the list will be organized to see who will play what generation and the game can start! Also, we can post the updates on the S2WG LJ comm page to keep them all in the same area. For those who have trouble posting to livejournal, if you upload your photos to photobucket, I would be happy to make the basic post, and you'd just fill in the writings. So yea...is anybody else in? 'Cause I'm willing if we can get some people. We don't have to be 10 people, but I'd like more than 2. So..a four generation family at the least.

SIGN UP HERE?!

ETA2: For those of you reading the rules and thinking "I don't like the sound of rule [x]" don't worry, we'll do a mini sort of revisement of the rules so that everyone is happy. Yes...that's all the ETA's I have for now. Big Grin

I'm in!

Sounds fun.

ONE MORE FINAL TO GO! Then I get to clean up, hehe.

Don't panic if you don't see me become active again until Wednesday. Then again, I might do non-computer stuffs for a bit so I might not get active right away once I'm back living at home. Big Grin

Re: Round-Robin
I'd be interested too. Just sign me up for a later generation so that I can finish Dio's BC first. Smile

Re: Round-Robin
Cool, so we've got four people signed up! Big Grin As for generation assignment, I think I'm going to draw for it after people sign up, except for Jo - how does finishing off the legacy sound to you? (Unless Lily joins, in that case you'd be the second last generation. Because her BodyShop doesn't work, so she'd have trouble uploading the heir.) That way it's fair for everyone. And Lala, the link is underlined, and says "Full Rules Here" and takes you to the Round Robin rules. Or is it that it wasn't working for you?

Oh yea, and for those of you who are in and want to, you can start making your founders Smile Make sure to make them in bodyshop and package them to a file. If you don't want/don't know how to get an account at a site like Mediafire, that's cool, send me your package and I'll put them up. It's just easier then having them culled from the exchange. Big Grin Well, I'm excited now!

Re: Round-Robin
I would like being the last one or second last, Jessie. Smile The problem is that I don't use SimPE, so how would I extract the next heir to upload him/her if I was second to last? :-\ We'd need to think of a way to solve that...

Oh, and I'm off to make a founder candidate in BodyShop now. Big Grin

Re: Round-Robin
Well, there is always the house option. It requires some effort and caution on behalf of the person download the sim and house combo, but it's a possibility. However, what are your reservations about SimPE? I mean, if you had a step by step tutorial that explained exactly how to extract a sim, so that you didn't have to worry about messing anything up in the game would that help? Or is it a system requirements issue? I seem to recall you talking about this before but I can't remember. Either way, if you don't want to get simPE there is always the house option. In that case, I would prefer to download the house and sim, and install it using clean installer and then package just the sim, so that no one else has to do that, because I don't want someone wrecking their game because of this. lol.

Re: Round-Robin
Yes, I know... I just don't want to get SimPE because I had it once in my old computer, and it messed up the computer completely. I'm kinda afraid of using it like Jo is with boolprop.  :-\ This probably sounds silly, I know, but I'd rather not have to download it and just send you the heir/ess in a lot like you said so that you could extract him/her. I don't want anyone to get corrupt files in their game because of me either.

Re: Round-Robin
I think I could do this.  I've got Sim PE and my Body Shop works, so just about wherever I fit in the queue would be cool..  Smile

Re: Round-Robin
I'm also willing to do the lot downloading and extracting and packaging. I'm comfortable with SimPE and know not to place the lot in a neighborhood I want to keep for very long  Tongue

Re: Round-Robin
That would be great Seera if you want to do that! It would help out a lot Smile

Cherith, I'll add you to the list Smile

Also, I'm going to add this now, I'd like for us to get started on this as soon as is possible, so I'm going to leave joining open until the end of the week (Saturday). By Sunday I would like founders from whoever is submitting them so that, that night I can post the poll and we can be started by the end of next week.

As for your founders! You can use any custom content you want, but try to keep in within reason, it's just like a simself. Also, pop them in your game and take a few pictures, pick the one you like best and send that to me as well as the link to your sim. If you don't have anywhere to put it BUT the exchange, compress the package file into a .zip or .rar and send me that, I'll host it on my mediafire account. And that's everything. I'll modify the post to put the order so far.

Right now, I'm fine with that order.

Might depend on how busy I am when my turn rolls around XD

Re: Round-Robin
I could, but I'd have to upload my founder in a house.  :-[ And I am only allowed to play on weekends so it'd probablly be best if I was a later generation and I'm okay with finishing up. It sounds really fun!  Big Grin And I'm going to sneak on the computer today when my parents aren't looking to try to make a founder/upload my new legacy chapter. -Shifty eyes-

Also, are we going to do it as a documentary legacy or do we add plot to it? Or is that a choice via the current generation?

Just killing time until the world ends.
