The LeBeau Legacy - Placeholder

Okay, so I've tried it several times, but until now, I hadn't been able to find a founder that I really wanted to play long enough to do a Legacy. But! I think I've done it. And soon (very soon) I'll have actual chapters up and everything.

Info: He was abducted by aliens in his early teens, and so may not even get married and just have alien children. It would be interesting having a generation consisting only in aliens, that's for sure. However, his aspiration is not the best thing about him. I already have several Knowledge platinum tombstones in this legacy, too.

Info: She's a Family sim, and that would be a welcome change, considering the aspirations in the heirline so far. However, she lacks variation in genetics, being a female clone of her father, both in looks and personality.

Namesake: Princess Mezreel/Methril, a character from the anime/manga Pygmalio.
Info: Like her sister Alice, she has the Family aspiration, and you already know how I feel about that. Also, she has a great mix of her parents' genetics. The only thing that annoys me a little about her is the nice points. I love mean sims, and all of the previous heirs were reasonably mean.

Namesake: Princess Shestar/Shesta, the younger sister of Mezreel's namesake.
Info: She's my favourite of the generation (I think she turned out ot be quite pretty), and the only one who got her mother's blue eyes. Her parents are both permaplatinum Pleasure sims, though, so I'll get that tombstone when they die. Also, like Mezreel, there's the nice point thing.

Sky Objects Tutorial

I know there are some hacks that change the color of the sky. I have them and use them. However, sometimes they just don't get you what you want.

This tutorial by Mao assumes you know a little bit about Photoshop. I know very little, and I could follow it. It shows how to use cloud and star brushes to make your sky pretty. Maybe it will help someone.

Lighting Etc

Since this is something I struggle with, once upon a time I asked for help from Mao, who graciously wrote these two wonderful tutorials:

Basics of Lighting Part 1

Basics of Lighting Part 2

For examples, check out Mao's Wings of Steel

My personal experience:

1. The candles on the floor cast a brighter light than you might think. They also subtly change the character's expression. Sometimes that's a good thing.

2. The spotlights are very versatile but you have to move them around and play with them to avoid that SPOTLIGHT look. Again, the light changes expression.

3. The wall lights alter color and are, again, sometimes brighter than you want. I haven't found them as useful as the floor lighting.

I do not use lighting mods. They change everything.

These tutorials helped me a lot.

...since I uploaded my very first ATOR chapter. Of course the actual start of the legacy (creating Calvin Random in CAS) was before that, but I don't remember when, so the day I uploaded the first chapter counts as my legacy anniversary to me.

Thinking back to when it all began, these have been some crazy four years. :O Since then, I've had thoughts about quitting ATOR at least on four or five different occasions, but I always went back to it. And I guess I can thank SWG for reaching this point. Without this community, I doubt I would have continued the legacy after late 2008, when the only forum I was a part of was boolprop (and there, almost no one read my legacy).

This is the lovely building challenge being run by our very own Omar.

Have you guys, ever wanted to practice building houses? Ever wanted for people to try out your houses?
Well now you can!!

(Its for TS2 and TS3)

In this Competition you will have no fear of being disqualified, no pressure or "omg I want to make mine the best one" This Competition is mostly to Improve your building skills, yay for no more box homes

You may upload your creation or make a story having a sim giving a tour your choice

Have fun
Respect other people's creations

Judging
The Judges will be testing out your lots, or looking at the pictures that you may post, and will be "judging" on what you may improve or what is super awesome about your lot

The first Challenge is to build a fully accessible starter legacy house on a 5x5 lot, or less if your computer is not that good, The budget is 20,000!

Toddler Mayhem Challenge?

Lala pointed me to this challenge, which sounds like a lot of fun! The main goal is basically to adopt 30 toddlers per generation, all into the same household. Obviously no cheating is allowed, with the acception of ONE motherlode per generation.

I really want to try this challenge, it'll be a brilliant way to test out how good people are at the game

Music is something most of us love, but it can be disconcerting to hit a blog with music you might not like and can't immediately turn off. This fixes the problem.

Alright, I know, weird topic... but honestly, guys, I can't find this anywhere. And really... who doesn't want a Hilter stash in their game?

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about (and I'm pretty sure all of you do), this is what the stash looks like:

On the Sims wiki, there is a supposed 'link' to a Hilter stash, but the site is gone. So, unless somebody else made one out there (and believe me, I've looked), then I'm out of luck.

IF anybody'd be willing to make me one, that'd work to. I really don't care where it comes from at this point, I just need one in my game. As does my friend Savanna. Hitler's going to be featured in her story (as the villain, of course), and we can't make him without having the stash.
